Students of the Willem de Kooning Academy are taking over OMI this January with the exhibition Radical Futures. Following the Building Bridges manifestation, the students set to work on new connections and ideas for De Esch. Using models, various sketches and an on-site intervention, they envisioned a radically different future for the area in 2050.

From Friday 16 January, the students transform OMI into their own workshop. Central to all designs is connecting through innovative design and shared stories. How can you create stronger connections between the diverse communities in De Esch – socially, culturally, ecologically and spatially?
