Rijnhaven Audio Tour

Start route Back to Kop van Zuid

The Rijnhaven, built at the end of the nineteenth century, was one of the liveliest port areas in the city. The quays held a colourful collection of cranes, installations, silos and warehouses. This industrial heritage is still very much present in Katendrecht, with the Santos warehouse, the Latenstein flour factory and the Fenix warehouses. On the Wilhelmina Pier, a new skyline has emerged in the past 30 years, with the iconic Hotel New York and the towers of De Rotterdam as extreme opposites.
