Verloren Bekisting focuses on gathering people around their projects. At BAR OMI, they reflect this spirit of the collective in creating a moment of exchange, presenting an overview of their 27 months spent working together as a collective. They will reflect on this period of time together with the public through physical samples, photography and discussion.

A lot of Verloren Bekisting’s meetings and thoughts happen around food, drinks, and music – as simple means to bring people together. At BAR OMI, they will build upon what they do as a collaborative practice: inviting people to take part in the discussion. With visual examples of their past projects, and the team as ambassadors for the coming ones, Verloren Bekisting will move their studio to Rotterdam for one evening.

Verloren Bekisting is a collective consisting of architects and makers Ron Barten, Laurens de Munck, Vittorio Romieri, Dirk Hoogeveen and Simon Hampikian. The designers experiment with creating functional and dysfunctional objects, festival stage design, scenography and architectural interventions throughout Belgium. The changing meaning of materials – from waste to useful – is central to their designs.
