On Thursday 17 October 21:00, a new swap will take place at the Aanschouw. Architects Leyla Hepsaydir and Rebekka Schächer (Stories of a Street) will present the work Nieuwe Binnenweg: a graphic tapestry of this dynamic street. From the showcase of the Aanschouw – on the New Binnenweg – the small tapestry will be on display for all to see for a week.

Almost two kilometres long, the Nieuwe Binnenweg connects the city centre with Delfshaven. Constantly changes character along its course, this vibrant street boasts a vast range of traders, residents and visitors. As a result of urban transformation and gentrification, the Nieuwe Binnenweg is changing rapidly. Architects Leyla Hepsaydir and Rebekka Schächer collected stories from the street. With their installation at OMI, they represent the ‘oral history’ with a graphic tapestry, snapshots and a 15-metre-long plan of the street. This way you can follow the diverse stories of its residents, community organizations and local traders. Visitors are invited to add their own memories, thereby preserving their stories.
