Landscape Crafting
Willie Vogel & Holly Dale
27 March - 16 May 2026
From dry crumbs to massive buildings: in exhibition Landscape Crafting, you follow the journey of a grain of sand. How does this natural raw material transform into an essential construction material in the urban landscape?
Landscape Crafting, curated by architects Willie Vogel and Holly Dale, aims to make invisible material flows visible. The exhibition invites you to look at the built environment through new eyes and to reflect on the origin, impact and future of the material that makes up our city.
Landscape Crafting is the culmination of a series of workshops, lectures and excursions in which landscape is explored through different disciplines – from an excursion to the Geertjesgolf sand extraction site, to artist Durk Valkema’s glassblowing workshop. The exhibition brings together the results of these encounters in a shared, tangible landscape of stories, materials and experiments.
