BAR OMI opened its doors with spoken word of spatial artist Ben Weir and music by the Rotterdam based DJ Tee Groove.

In a series of four performances, Ben Weir (1991, Belfast) read from his forthcoming book Screams From the Trees: an ongoing investigation into the phenomenon of the garden hermitage. In a collage of fiction, memoirs and performance he took us back to this unique (colonial) heritage in Northern Ireland.

Between performances, guests sipped cocktails to the upbeat sounds of Tee Groove’s funky 80’s vinyl selections. At the bar, team OMI mixed up refreshing Whiskey Sours—shaking Irish whiskey, lemon, and rosemary syrup to perfection, to be enjoyed at the bar and out in the courtyard garden.
